Here we are talking about Bollywood Superstars, who’re at the top of their game, after having spent years in the industry. Its easy for them to charge crores of rupees, and some of these can easily charge crores of rupees for just a few minutes job.
However, they know that they had started from ground zero, they realize the importance of the people who have worked with them and helped them to reach the position where they are today, and also realize that it takes money to make good quality picture.
Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Haider’ walked away with all the accolades after it was released, although it was pitted against Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang. But despite a slow start, Haider went on to win various awards, including five national awards for Best Male Playback Singer, Best Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Music Direction, and Best Choreography.
But did you know that Shahid Kapoor did not charge any fees for the movie Haider?
Yes, that’s right! Because he believed in Vishal’s vision, Shahid didn’t charge a penny for the movie because he didn’t want the budget of the movie to suffer, which could have forced the production team to cut costs. And the result was just mind-blowing.
Although full credit goes to the creative team of Haider, Shahid Kapoor played a huge role in the success of the movie. Those extra crores were spent to make the movie better.
However, Shahid is not the only example in Bollywood.

The man who can charge crores for some minutes of his life, the Bollywood badshah appeared in a guest role in Bhoothnath Returns. His role was an extended version of his role from Bhoothnath, the prequel of the movie.
Salman
Salman is known to have a heart of gold, which is why he has worked for free in several of his friends’ movies. Remember his performances in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Tees Maar Khan, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Om Shanti Om and Son of Sardaar? Reportedly, he didn’t charge a single penny for any of these special appearances.
Big B
Ever wondered why megastar Amitabh Bachchan worked in regional cinema? This was because of his makeup man Deepak Sawant, who turned producer of Bhojpuri movies, and Bachchan decided to work in his movies, Ganga, Gangotri and Ganga Devi for free.
Kajol
Kajol appears in a brief role in all of Karan Johar’s movies as the producer-director considers her to be his lucky charm, but the actress never takes any money for this gesture.
Rani
Being a good friend of Karan Johar ever since he cast her in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mukherjee didn’t charge Johar for her brief role in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Sonakshi
Sinha, who has worked with Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara, and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty didn’t charge for her brief role in Boss, which starred Kumar in the main lead.
Katrina
For an item song in Karan Malhotra’s directorial venture Agneepath, Kaif decided not to charge any money from producer Karan Johar.
