Gstaad is a beautiful village in the German-speaking section of the Canton of Bern in southwestern Switzerland. Its almost a postcard-perfect ski resort town in the Swiss Alps. Some of our Bollywood stars love this place, and one of them is Kareena Kapoor Khan who just adores Gstaad.
Kareena Loves Gstaad
Every year since Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have been together, their annual year-end holidays have been to the snow-capped sanctuary of Gstaad in Switzerland.
In one of her interviews, Kareena said, “If you hold a gun to my head and ask me which my one holiday location is, then it’s easily Gstaad in Switzerland.”
Kareena finds the place very romantic; in fact she loves this place so much that she has made Saif promise that he would take her there every single year for the rest of their lives. Saif, on his part, has been making sure that he sticks to his commitment.

Saif and his begum have been spending their New Year breaks in Gstaad, at times along with their families (including Bebo’s mother Babita Kapoor and sister Karisma Kapoor) .
Its believed that Yash Chopra visited Gstaad for his own honeymoon and fell in love with the beauty of the region.

If you’re at this place, especially at the top of the glacier, you’ll notice many Indian tourists there. And most of them definitely want to know which of their favorite Bollywood stars have been there before – for shooting as well as for holidays.
After all, for decades, Indian directors have been coming to Switzerland to film towns like Gstaad as the backdrop to their elaborate dream sequences. And over the years, film fans have followed too.
