In one of our earlier posts, we had mentioned how our Bollywood stars kill time when on flights and what are the things that they usually carry with them when flying.
But considering the hectic life that these celebrities live, you might be assuming that long flights will be even more stressful to them, or at least annoying.
The more popular the star, the more you’re in demand, and your work life involves high dose of travelling. So do these stars ever come to a point where they just want to pause, to catch their breath?
Travelling provides personal time
Well, on the contrary, most celebrities actually enjoy it. Because its the only time when they don’t get disturbed, don’t have to answer a phone call or don’t have to rush to some venue.
“Ironically enough, travelling is what actually lets me pause and breathe at times,” says Ayushmann Khurrana.
The time that these artistes spend on flight is when they catch up on movies, or pen their thoughts (which they had been planning for long) or take time to read their favorite book without getting disturbed.
You can’t do these things when you land because you then just get sucked into the demands of your job. You have to rehearse or perform, have to run from the hotel to the venue and back, visit some studios, attend some workshops, etc.
So even though travelling may look like a boring thing, it can actually be a blessing in disguise for our celebrities, or for that matter for anybody who’s travelling.
Artistes must travel often
Artistes must travel often, and that too to unfamiliar territory. Going to places where you are not popular can also be the true test of an artiste’s talent, feels Ayushmann Khurrana.
And why’s that so?
Its because when you’re in a country where no one recognizes you, you need to be really good at your art for people to appreciate your talents. If a singer picks up a guitar and starts singing a Punjabi song in Ireland or Iceland, the response of the people around will reveal a lot about your caliber.
And if you’re a true artiste, that revelation should mean a lot, as it would motivate you to work harder to up your game.
That’s the reason why most wise men in Bollywood suggest that an artiste must travel more in order to really grow.
