Perfectionist Aamir Khan to play astronaut, based on Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s life, in his next film.
Aamir Khan was an astronaut in the movie PK, however the film was not on astronauts nor it gave us a glimpse of space. However, Aamir Khan is now actually going to show us those things in his next film.
Yes, Aamir Khan’s next movie is based on Rakesh Sharma’s biopic. Rakesh Sharma is the first Indian to travel to space.
Considering Aamir’s dedication and his penchant for perfection, it seems Aamir is the perfect man to recreate this one rare incident of Indian history.
When former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Sharma how India looked from space, the astronaut gave a witty (and apt) answer…Rakesh said, “Saare jahan se achcha.”

When producer Siddharth Roy Kapur got hold of the script, he went straight to Aamir Khan, who agreed to take up the project. The film will be made under RK Films (Roy Kapur Films…owned by Siddharth Roy Kapur). The film will jointly be produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Aamir.
While we definitely don’t expect the movie to be a Gravity or a Martian (they have an advantage because of their budgets), you can definitely expect Aamir Khan to do a great job.
