But did you know that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is also a big fan of Akshaye Khanna?
Akshaye Khanna portrays the role of a tough cop, no-nonsense in ‘Ittefaq’, which is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, BR Studios and Dharma Productions.
Shah Rukh Khan is totally impressed by Akshaye’s performance in Ittefaq and says that “Akshaye is unreadable and that’s one of the plus points of the film. Personally, I feel that nobody could have essayed this role better than him.”
SRK further adds, “I’ve always been extremely fond of Akshaye and his acting abilities. I’m a big fan of his work. There’s a strange mystique about him that reflects in his acting. He does very little, but conveys a gamut of emotions effortlessly. As an audience, he always keeps you guessing about his character’s journey.”

Akshaye Khanna took a break from Films for personal reasons
Before entering into Bollywood, Akshaye took acting classes at Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, Mumbai. He won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his role in Border (1997). His performance in the film “Gandhi, My Father” (2007) was critically acclaimed (he played Harilal Gandhi, eldest son of Mahatma Gandhi.
Akshaye was the first choice to play the lead role in “Taare Zameen Par” (2007), which was later done by Aamir Khan.
Farhan Akhtar initially cast Akshaye Khanna as Akash, Hrithik Roshan as Siddharth and Saif Ali Khan as Sameer. But after Hrithik Roshan, and then Abhishek Bachchan, turned down the role, Farhan swapped the roles of Akshaye Khanna and Aamir Khan.
