Bollywood is rushing in to acquire the rights to the various short stories from Twinkle Khanna’s latest book ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, and many are already calling her the India’s best writer currently.
Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna seems to have made a successful transition from being an actress to an author. Twinkle’s first book, ‘Mrs Funnybones’ was India’s highest-selling book by a female author.
Her second book ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’ is also getting a good response. Surprisingly, Bollywood producers and directors are calling her to acquire the rights to different short stories from the same book.
Is Twinkle really India’s best writer now?
Although there are several good authors in the country, being in Bollywood makes certain things easier I guess, especially the promotion bit. Twinkle has been writing for the leading newspapers for some time now, and she’s also making appearances on Television, to promote herself as an author.
Whether she is the best author in India? I guess, we will have to wait and see, although she has the resources to make the right kinds of noises (and the Bollywood connection definitely helps).
