There are some really great Bollywood movies that have been made on cops in the past, and film celebrities also make sure they support the various initiatives and causes launched by the police force for the benefit of the general public.
Courtesy Simba’s good run at the box office, director Rohit Shetty has donated 51 lakhs from the profits made by the movie to Mumbai Police. Rohit Shetty presented the cheque to the commissioner of Police at the recently concluded festival ‘Umang Awards’, in the presence of actors Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar
While the cops in the movies are super-heroes who really care for the public, the general perception of police among the public is still not very good (not approachable, indifferent, corrupt).
However, of late, the police force in various states/cities have been showing their more human side by posting creative/humorous updates on various matters pertaining to the public.
Checkout this Filmi tweet by the Rajasthan police force in support of Ranveer Singh.
You came like a #GullyBoy .@RanveerOfficial but turned out you were much more – Bajirao Mastani, & eventually a super cop #Simba. Always a delight to be with you. Next time you are in Raj with @deepikapadukone, people will come with Band Baaja Baraat. @JalorePolice @MumbaiPolice https://t.co/hMmghp0Mcp

Top Bollywood movies on the police force
Here are the top Bollywood cop movies that have dome extremely well at the box office. The good thing about these movies is that despite tackling a serious topic, they all turned out to be excellent mainstream movies.
Sarfarosh: Features Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, & Sonali Bendre. Its an excellent mainstream movie, its gripping, has great story line, and has some melodious songs too.
Gangaajal: Directed by Prakash Jha film, a hard-hitting movie with fearless storytelling and excellent performances.
Singham: Featuring Ajay Devgn, the movie shows a super-cop take on a mighty politician.
Dabangg: Featuring Salman Khan as Chulbul / Robinhood Pandey, the movie shows a super-cop who takes money from te powerful and gives it to the needy.
Khakee: Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, a great cop and action film. Top actors, and gripping plot.
Zanjeer: Watch Amitabh Bachchan as the ‘angry young man’ (this is before he became a superstar). “Yeh Police Station Hay Tumharay Baap Ka Ghar Nahi,” a popular dialogue from the film.
For Zanjeer, director Prakash Mehra was having a tough time finding a suitable actor to play the lead role. It was then the writers of the film Javed Akhtar & Salim Khan suggested Amitabh Bachchan’s name. The director went with the writers to watch ‘Bombay to Goa’, and although its a comedy movie, the few fight sequences between Amitabh Bachchan & Shatrughan Sinha convinced Prakash Mehra to take Amitabh Bachchan as the lead actor for Zanjeer.
