Ek Ruka Hua Faisla (1986)

Directed by Basu Chatterjee, this is a remake of the Hollywood film “12 Angry Men”. The movies shows how even lawyers can get into the trap of assuming things.

Jai Bhim (2021)

Tamil superstar Surya plays Ambedkar-inspired Justice Chandru in this excellent Indian Tamil-language legal drama.

Section 375 (2019)

A famous Bollywood director is accused by a female crew of having raped her. Akshaye Khanna defends the director whereas Richa Chadda defends the woman. Is the director really the culprit or is he wrongly accused? Watch the movie to find out.

Aitraaz (2004)

A film ahead of its time, the movie deals with male harassment by a female. and how males can be victimized due to discriminatory laws. Paresh Rawal’s character (lawyer) says “Chaku kharbooje par gire ya kharboojs chaku pe katna to Kharbooje to hee hain” while defending Priyanka Chopra.

Damini (1993)

Damini witnesses a rape and decides to fight for justice, but faces lot of challenges. A disgraced lawyer (Sunny Deol) helps bring the culprits to justice. This is one of Sunny Deol’s best movies. His famous dialogue Tareekh pe tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh milti gayi My Lord, par insaaf nahi mila!” is from this movie.

Jolly LLB 2 (2017)

Jolly (Akshay Kumar) gets the chance to represent the most critical court case of his career. The movie shows the challenges of India’s legal system.

Jolly LLB (2013)

A small time lawyer (Arshad Warsi) wants to earn quick fame and fortune and files a PIL for an infamous hit-and-run incident, but quickly faces the realities of being a lawyer in India.

Runway 34 (2022)

“Runway 34” is based on Captain Vikrant Khanna’s (played by Ajay Devgn) flight that took a mysterious course after take-off.

Pink (2016)

When three young women are implicated in a crime, a retired lawyer steps forward to help them clear their names.

Kanoon (1960)

A thrilling courtroom drama where the identified criminal is also the judge who presides over the case.

Other movies worth mentioning are Mulk, Shahid (Rajkumar Rao), Rustom (Akshay Kumar), Jazbaa (Irrfan Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). Kyo ki main jhooth nahi bolta, Shaurya, Oh My god.

Bar owner comes with ‘out-of-the-box’ solution to bypass law

Here’s a perfect example of ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking. After the Supreme Court of India banned the sale and serving of liquor within 500 meters of national and state highways, a bar owner in Kerala, India, came out with an innovative solution to bypass the law. The new rule affected several business owners, and many bars had to shut down their operations after the ruling.

This resourceful bar owner came up with an unconventional solution to bypassing the requirement – by turning the entrance to his bar into a long, winding maze so that the distance exceeds 500 meters.
