Bangkok Bombing Almost Killed this Bollywood Couple
The recent bombing in Bangkok, that killed at least 22 people, seemed to be aimed mostly at foreign travellers in order to hurt the economy, and almost killed this Bollywood couple.
The bomb went off at the Erawan shrine, which is an important tourist attraction and the area is full of five-star hotels and glitzy shopping malls, which are frequented by tourists, including celebrities.
And guess which Bollywood couple was in the vicinity of the blast?
It was Riteish Deshmukh & Genelia Deshmukh (formerly Genelia D’Souza)!
Genelia was in Bangkok for an advertisement shoot and hubby Riteish had accompanied her to Bangkok. At the time of the blast, Genelia was in a mall next to the explosion, and even Ritesh was in the vicinity of the blast.
The couple later tweeted about the incident. .
Bomb set off just opp the mall we are currently in -can hear the sirens blazing all over- we are safe but feel terrible for the lives lost.

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. We all are fine.

The proximity of foreign celebrities to the blast zone indicates that the attacker zeroed in on the international visitors who are so valuable to Thailand’s economy.
The incident is likely to boost the nervousness of potential visitors to Thailand, in the short term.
