Cruise ship almost crashes into a beach-facing home, couple get the shock of their lives

Cruise ship too close to sea facing home

A cruise ship came within metres of a beach-facing home, couple get the shock of their lives.

A beach facing home is a dream come true for any couple (who owns such a house). However, a couple in Florida got quite a scare when a gigantic cruise ship came shockingly close to their beach-facing home. The couple, who have been living in the house for seven years never experienced something like this before.

Checkout the video. You can hear the woman shouting “Its coming too close to the house.” You can see the man waving at the ship, signalling them to move back. You can even see the (panicked) two dogs.

‘This thing is coming to the house, and I was really worried. I was worried about my husband. I was worried about the dogs, and I was worried about the house. We’ve seen them come, what we call close, but never to where the ship has had to stop, put itself into reverse, back out into the channel and eventually go back to sea’, said Bill. The cruise ship reportedly came within 100 feet of their home,” , Yasmine Todhunter told wsvn.com.

Husband Bill posted the video on the Facebook page of Celebrity Equinox, the company that operates the cruise ship. However, the company denied any lapses by the ship. It even said, “The ship operated safely and did not put guests or crew at risk. We can also confirm the ship did not touch bottom.”

Its quite possible that the pilot may have got mixed signals. And like huge freight trains, even these ships take some time to stop (also depends on strong currents and the skill of the people in control).

But it was indeed very close!
