Finally, Google has realised that Indians love Bollywood; the search giant has made updates to its search algorithm so that the searches are better (more like answers to Bollywood-related searches—actors, movies and etc), instead of showing a plain list of links.
So what prompted google to make the enhancement?
That’s because eight out of 10 most searched people in India (in the year 2015) were related to Bollywood.
The top searched terms were Sunny Loene, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Alia Bhatt.
Google used its proprietary ‘Knowledge Graph System’ to enhance the searches related to ‘Bollywood’. The system provides actual answers to the searches, instead of listing the links based on the search, and navigating users to other websites.
Bad for Film Based Websites?
The new enhancements in google search could mean lesser traffic to film-related websites, because the information will be provided on the google page itself, and users won’t be shown the links to other websites (which may have some good Bollywood related content).
