Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B), India’s premier engineering college, will offer courses in filmmaking and fine arts, as part of its strategy to diversify its portfolio.
If you have a passion for films and want to learn the art filmmaking (directing, writing scripts, and more), you will now have the option of enrolling for a course at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
IIT-Bombay is planning to teach fine arts & film-making; Masters degrees in film making and fine arts are being considered, as part of their ‘Vision 2021’ initiative. Efforts will also be made to increase international student numbers in India and put in place a system to hire foreign faculty on a five-year contract.
Technology Filmmaking & Photography Society, IIT Kharagpur (TFPS)

Screenwriting and Filmmaking: IIT-Madras
IIT-Madras already runs a short-term course in screenwriting and filmmaking, which is open to all professionals and students, and not just to students of cinema. Participants can make use of campus accommodation, on a first-come-first-serve basis (you need to pay the rent). A video camera is not a must for participation. Cell phone cameras will suffice.
