A poll on a leading entertainment site revealed that cine fans still prefer Salman Khan’s original ‘Tan tanatan’ and ‘Oonchi hai building’ (composed by Anu Malik) songs over Varun Dhawan’s ‘Chalti hai kya 9 se 12’ song and the ‘Oonchi hai building’ remake.
Those who are fans of the original Judwaa are obviously not surprised with the poll results.
Fans of Salman Khan’s Judwaa (1997) have so many memories of the movie, including its catchy songs.
Anu Malik’s Tan tana tan and ‘Oonchi hai building’ from the original film were chart-busters, iconic songs of the ’90s, typical Anu Malik songs which were also sung by him. The songs had Salman romancing Karishma Kapoor and Rambha.
So when the new songs from Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 was out, it was only obvious for people to ask which one was better, and the verdict is out.
Salman’s songs have won, and that too hands down!
Its usually difficult for recreated songs to match the popularity of the original, and the same seems to have happened in this case as well.
Varun Dhawan’s Chalti Hai Kya 9 se 12, with modern grooves, is finding it difficult to become a favourite. In fact, the poll result was totally in favour of the original version, with only 15 per cent votes going for the new version of the song.
If you have seen the newer version of Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12, you will not be surprised with the result.
On the other hand, the ‘Oonchi hai building’ remix doesn’t sound much different from the original, probably the makers decided not to tamper with the original much, as the response to their first song was not that great.
Here are the ‘Oonchi hai building’ versions.
And here’s the original starring Salman Khan.
Let us know if you like the new songs better, or are the Salman’s songs your favorites too.
