Faced with criticism from all quarters, Karan Johar seems to have crumbled under pressure. There are reports that Karan has resigned from the MAMI film festival, and is also unfollowing a lot of stars who are not supporting him.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has created rifts in the industry and certain biggies are receiving a lot of flak on social media for not providing enough support to outsiders.
One such film celebrity is producer and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Karan has always been criticised by the likes of Kangana Ranaut, who has always accused him for being the torch bearer of Nepotism in Bollywood.
But this time, when everyone is pointing fingers at him, Karan was expecting some of the industry insiders to support him, at a time when he needed it the most.
Unfortunately for Karan Johar, that is not happening.
Apparently, Karan is upset with accusations that he is elitist snob who promotes only star kids.
As a result, he has decided to step down from the MAMI Film Festival board (as per this report), despite hectic efforts to convince him to stay (by MAMI organisers).
After Sushant Singh’s death, people have been pointing fingers at Karan Johar, and he was expecting his colleagues to speak for him. However, he hardly got any support from anyone.
As a result, a heartbroken Karan has now unfriended a lot of stars barring just three – Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan.
Sushant Singh’s suicide has angered a big section of the public who have directed their anger at people such as Karan Johar.
It seems, the top Bollywood production houses including like Dharma Productions (owned by Karan Johar) had ‘banned’ Sushant Singh Rajput from their projects, in the recent past, which is considered to be as one of the reasons why Susahant went under depression.
