Kerala Flood 2018 Donations: First Ronaldo and now Salman Khan?

Bollywood actor Jaaved Jaaferi recently praised Salman Khan for donating Rs. 12 crore to Kerala flood victims, but later deleted the tweet as he wasn’t sure whether it was true (probably taking a cue from the Cristiano Ronaldo viral news).

Sometime back a news went viral on social media which said that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo had donated Rs 77 crore to the Kerala flood victims. There were many who even criticised the Indian government and Indian celebs as their efforts seemed “little” when compared to the Portuguese footballer’s big gesture. However, the news could not be ascertained and there was no official statement made by Ronaldo on the matter.

I guess that is the reason Jaaved Jaaferi decided to delete his tweet after he first praised Salman Khan on social media for donating Rs. 12 cr to Kerala flood victims.

I had tweeted that I had ‘heard’ about @BeingSalmanKhan ‘s bcontribution. Because it was a very strong possibility given his track record, I put forward my thoughts and admiration.
Taking the tweet off till I can confirm it

Salman has not commented yet on the matter but Twitterati believes the donation figures have been blown-up.

Perhaps, Jaaved should have confirmed before tweeting, and probably saving Salman the embarrasment?
