There was a time Russians used to love Raj Kapoor (most of them still do) and his films; they would sing several of his songs. But now, it seems, even Hollywood filmmakers are taking a liking to Raj Kapoor’s song. One of his classics, and a very popular song, ‘Mera Joota Hai Japani’ has been used in the opening & closing scenes of the movie ‘Deadpool’ starring Ryan Reynolds.
Deadpool’s director Tim Miller had first heard the song in a pub in New Zealand, and loved it so much that he wanted to use it in one of his films. during the making of Deadpool, Tim Miller made Ryan Reynolds and the crew hear the song, and they all loved the song. And that’s when they decided to use this classic Bollywood song in the movie. Deadpool uses the song ‘Mera Joota Hai Japani’ in the beginning and the ending scenes.
