Bollywood actor Nana Patekar was given a clean chit by Mumbai police in the sexual harassment case as as they find no evidence against the actor. Tanushree Dutta calls the development as ‘disgusting’, says Nana Patekar “desperately” wants to return to films and is trying to get his name cleared by any means.
“Nana Patekar has been trying to get a clean chit for a while, now. Our witnesses have been getting threat calls, and they are being intimidated and pressured in every way so that they do not record their statements with the police. We have 10 witnesses, out of which only one-and-a-half statements have been recorded. The others have not even come forward, as they have got threat calls. How will credible evidence be produced, if the accused is making sure that no evidence against him reaches the police? The witnesses that the police have recorded the statements (in his favour) from, are his friends,” says Tanushree.
If rape accused Alok Nath got a clean chit and returned to movies then surely it was not going to be difficult for harrassment accused Nana Patekar to get himself a clean chit, says the actress.
Nana Patekar was accused by actress Tanushree Dutta for harassing her in 2008 on the sets of a film starring both of them. Dutta said Patekar wanted intimate dance steps between the two of them to be included in a song. She was 24 at that time.
The case resurfaced in 2018, sparking India’s #MeToo movement and leading to Dutta registering a new case.
However, Patekar has always denied the allegations. “What does she mean by sexual harassment? We were on the set and there were 200 people sitting in front of us,” he said in an interview.
Mumbai Police said they were “unable to continue the investigation” because of lack of evidence to support the allegations.
Shocking Video: Tanushree Dutta’s car attacked by goons in 2008
2008 Video showing Tanushree Dutta’s car being attacked by a mob went viral.
Tanushree Dutta, who is back in India after nearly a decade, has accused Nana Patekar for sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss (2008), and revealed that the director of Chocolate (2005), Vivek Agnihotri, had asked her to take off her clothes to give cues to her co-actors. She wants Nana Patekar to face consequences for his actions; she wants Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya to be banned from the film industry.
Former Miss India and Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta had accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Please (2008). It seems Nana Patekar had asked the choreogrpaher to add intimate steps to the song at the last moment, which Tanushree refused to do.
Patekar intimidated her on the sets and even called goons to harass her.
A video footage from 2008 that has surfaced, shows Tanushree’s car being attacked by a mob. The goons punctured the tyre of her car and some jumped on the rooftop causing a dent. Tanushree however stayed calm in the situation (her father was also present in the car). Her dad contacted the police, who rushed to the spot to clear the mob and helped the car move ahead.

Tanushree recalled the incident and said, “Post the incident on the sets of Horn OK Please, Nana Patekar called up this political party who has a reputation of lynching and causing damages on the sets. And the producers called up the media to gain publicity from the whole situation. On one side we had the media and on the other side, we had the political party workers. They vandalised my car completely. So, I got off my vanity van and headed towards our vehicle.”
