Patriotism is good politics, but we should have left our national anthem alone. I found the ruling to play the anthem before every show of every film highly immature. The very act of playing it in cinema halls before every show is a ‘misuse’ of it. By that logic it must be played before start of every television show as well. There is no end to it, and as long as we have such ‘talibani’ dictates’ such symbols of our national pride will not only get misused but also disrespected widely.

Agree Tejas…Besides, these are short-cut methods to inspire patriotism. How about having a policy where every Indian is asked to serve the army for a couple of years? But that requires long term planning and vision…so may not happen.

Logically, it makes no sense, and I feel we also do dis-service to our country by playing it before every kind of movie. Just imagine you stand for the national anthem and then proceed to watch a Sunny Leone or Grand Masti movie.

Cinema and theater halls are meant for people to be entertained. Fear of intimidation at such places only make things become more problematic.

Patriotism can be taught and can be enforced by conduct of society and behavior of elders at higher levels and also by enforcing agencies as whole.Patriotism can be learned from elders whose behavior in society would be examples to new generation.Actually freedom of speech and expression is being missed used in India due to facts that there are only few honest and sincere politicians who rule us at various places.There is no fear of law due to fact that muscle and money power play role everywhere.Politicians are hunger for power and same can be achieved divisions in society as such one can not expect them to be exemplary to public.

Forcing results in fake affection, my opinion anyway.

If you force someone into making love, e.g. martial rape or even rape, would it be called ‘love making’s or love?? Like a faking wife, citizens would start faking patriotism and the real deal would be lost.

Lets as a nation develop and nurture good human being then there will true nationalism unlike fake nationalism people based on people’s colour, race or creed.
