The ‘Lunchbox’ actress starred in the hit US show ‘Homeland’.
After being appreciated for her performances in films like ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Airlift’, you would have expected to see more of Nimrat Kaur in Bollywood.
But fortunately for her, her Hollywood career has also taken off. In 2016, she began portraying Rebecca Yedlin in the second season of the American television series ‘Wayward Pines’ and also essayed a negative role in ‘Homeland’.
Later, she did the web series, ‘The Test Case’ in India.
But does it worry her that she has taken such a long gap in Bollywood, and does she ever feel the need to do something different in order to make her presence felt in Bollywood after her international assignments?
“Of course, you lose touch. When I work here for a long time, I lose touch abroad and vice versa. But I don’t know what you can actually do deliberately to make your presence felt. I believe your presence is felt by the work you do and the statement your work makes,” says Kaur.
So there you go!
I guess she will continue to balance her work between international assignments and the Hindi film industry.
Nimrat impressed with her spontaneity and subtleness in Ritesh Batra’s acclaimed The Lunchbox opposite Irrfan. Determined to do something at par with The Lunchbox, Nimrat claims she rejected 450 scripts in two years to finally take up Homeland after successfully auditioning for the role. Nimrat Kaur played a Pakistani ISI agent in the hit American TV series Homeland.
Few years back, it was rumoured that Nimrat Kaur was dating ex cricketer Ravi Shastri. The coach of the Indian cricket team separated from his wife Ritu more than a decade back. However, the Lunchbox actor had denied it.
