Queen Elizabeth is still alive, but exhaustive plans and preparations are in place, regarding what (and how) things will be carried out if the queen were to die.

But many say the funeral for the Queen will be unlike any Britain has seen in modern history. The Guardian notes Elizabeth represents the British people’s “last living link with our former greatness.”

The plan mentions the doctors who will be by her side, the wording of the first press releases, the officials who will handle the news, the guards who will stand nearby, there will be an official 10-day funeral, and more.

While Queen Elizabeth still looks hale and hearty, British news outlets are uniquely prepared for this event.
