Sylvester Stallone’s iconic movie ‘Rambo’ is going to be remade in Bollywood. While Stallone wishes Tiger good luck, Stallone’s Indian fans are not excited as they fear the movie will turn out to be yet another masala fare.
Stallone says no involvement with Bollywood Rambo remake
Amid rumours that Sylvester Stallone will be playing a cameo in the Rambo remake, the action icon has spoken to Deadline to clarify that “any involvement in Tiger Sharoff’s Rambo is not happening, under any circumstances” although he has nothing against the project, and “I wish them well on their own.”
Stallone clarifies his views
Indians are big fan of Sylvester Stallone, especially has Rambo and Rocky series. Stallone’s fans include film stars as well, including Salman Khan & Akshay Khan. Sylvester Stallone has even played a small role in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kambakkht Ishq’.
So when news reached the Rocky star that Bollywood is considering making a remake of Rambo, he expressed his thoughts on social media.
“I read recently they are remaking Rambo in India!!…Great character…hope they don’t wreck it,” said Sylvester Stallone on Instagram after hearing the news.
Probably the Rambo star is aware what most Bollywood directors are capable of doing to Hollywood classics. However, fearing a backlash, he clarified in another post.
“Some people like to read my words and twist them, wishing Tiger Shroff, the 27-year-old Indian action hero who will star in the Hindi revamp, good luck. Oh, for the Record, I DO NOT CONTROL THE RAMBO PROPERTY, The company “millennium” does! They also own Expendables . Good luck with that one too.
“I actually get excited in my heart whenever young artists get an rare opportunity to reach for the stars! Eye of the Tiger! I am sure you will put all of your heart and soul into it..Never give up young man!” he added, next to a topless shot of Shroff in his Rambo persona.
Stallone’s Indian fans cringe
Stallone’s Indian fans are not impressed with the remake plans though. Here are some of the comments of Indian fans…what they feel the remake will turn out to be:
- Low budget 3rd class acting and dramatic emotional scenes for no reasons
- Trust me sir they will make your movie cartoon I am an Indian and I know our directors it will be hell of a wreck
- Dance numbers and a happy ending what can go wrong?
- Rambo will always be Sylvester Stallone
- This is why Bollywood sucks. Thank you for ruining a classic. You will never be on par with the beauty of the original Rambo. It was beautiful for its setting, plot, action and actors. Tiger Shroff is a little shrimp compared to Stallone.
Here’s Hrthik Roshan sharing the first look of Tiger Shroff’s Rambo avatar. Well, no offence to Tiger, but we would have preferred Hrithik doing this role than Tiger.

Official remakes are currently big business in Bollywood, and even the remake of Rambo is likely to do well commercially. The Rambo franchise, a film series based on the David Morrell novel First Blood, first hit the big screen in 1982 and took over $125 million globally at the box office.
The Hindi remake will be directed by Siddharth Anand.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, the film will portray the last surviving member of an elite covert unit of the Indian armed forces who returns home to discover a war waging in his own land and how he “unleashes mayhem by becoming an unstoppable machine after tough training.”
