We all know that Sir Richard Branson is known for his business acumen and has varied business interests. With Bollywood movies getting bigger by the day, and most recent movies grossing more than a couple of hundred crore rupees, Richard Branson thinks its a good time to produce hindi movies.
‘Virgin Produced’ was launched back in 2010 and made its debut with the the Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper movie ‘Limitless’. They know how to reach a younger crowd, and would like to use their experience and implement their successful business model in Bollywood.
‘Virgin Produced India’, based in Mumbai, will make, produce and distribute Bollywood films, and even remake some Hollywood films for the Indian audiences, with help from ‘Cinema Capital India’, the team that was also part of Hrithik Roshan blockbuster ‘Krrish 3’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 2’.
Bollywood & the South-Indian film industries (both Tamil & Telugu), for long, have made successful remakes of the original film, for their local language speaking movie buffs.
It seems Richard Branson’s ‘Virgin Produced’ also have taken a leaf out of their books, and are trying to use that model here in India. So get ready to watch remakes of some of Hollywood’s successful movies in Hindi, but with a dosage of high-voltage drama, songs & dishoom-dishoom!
