Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham’ franchise with Ajay Devgn was a smash-hit. He then decided to make ‘Simmba’ with Ranveer Singh. It was only after he revealed about his upcoming film ‘Sooryavanshi’ Akshay Kumar (another cop movie) that people got an idea about his bigger plans.
Rohit Shetty is planning to create a cop universe, on the lines of the Marvel superstars. And he has himself admitted that the idea (inspiration) came to him from Hollywood, after he saw Avengers.
The action director admits that what happens in Hollywood, comes to Bollywood after 10 years.
While he was nervous in the beginning when the idea struck him, he has started working on the big plan, which you can clearly see from the films that he has planned.
Rohit has also launched the animation series “Little Singham”, in collaboration with Discovery Kids, Reliance Animation
But what about the ladies? Marvel movies have female superstars as well!
Well, Rohit Shetty plans to introduce a Lady Singham as well.
That’s right! May be not immediately, but Rohit is definitely giving it a thought. In fact, he is thinking about creating a female cop universe (he is already working on the script), though he has clearly indicated that it might take some time before it rolls.
Manikarnika actress Ankita Lokhande, in an interview, had said she would love to play the role of lady Simmba in a Rohit Shetty film. “I want to dance and do some masti. Something a like Rohit Shetty film. I am sure Rohit sir definitely would want to kill me when he reads this. But I want to become lady Simmba,” Ankita had told in an interview.
It seems the female actors in Bollywood are also eager to play cops in a Rohit Shetty film. So perhaps its time to extend the the cop franchise to include female leads as well.
