Shahrukh is not just a superstar, he’s also a ‘super dad’ in real life. Despite being one of the biggest celebrities in the world, SRK ensures that he makes time for his children to enjoy the small pleasures of life.
Here are the top parenting lessons you can learn from the Baadshah of Bollywood.
Be Your Kids’ Best Friend
SRK is not the type to preach. He want his kids to enjoy their childhood, and doesn’t enforce anything on them.
“I love my children not because they are my children, but because I have garnered a friendship with them. I am realising this… as they are getting older, they are my greatest friends. I think my mental age is between 12 to 14, so it is nice to have two friends that I can ever have.”
And his kids adore him, as is evident from Aryan’s tweet on SRK’s birthday.
He wrote, “He can play like kid, give advice like a friend and protect like a bodyguard. Happy Birthday to you. We Love You BossMan.”
We all know that SRK is a great father and that comes from the kind of relationship he shared with his dad, Mir Taj Mohammad Khan. Its sad that they did not live long enough to see the stardom their son achieved on his own merit.

Freedom to Choose
Of course he is in a position to allow his kids to choose a profession of their choice, but he’s also quite flexible in other matters, such as religion (SRK, a Muslim, is married to a Hindu).
His children are growing up in a secular household, where they respect all religions. A liberal man, Shah Rukh, keeps idols of Hindu Gods right next to his Quran.
“I don’t teach my children what is Hindu and what is Muslim,” says Shahrukh.
Time Over Money
This is why he’s a super-dad, and this is one are where most other parents struggle.
“Make time to be with your little ones. Presentations will come and go, but your baby’s childhood will never return.”
He plays with his kids, goes out for cycling with Suhana. He attends taekwondo tournaments, whenever Suhana and Aryan participate in them. He gives them pep talks, cheers for them. He drives to the airport to receive Aryan every-time he comes to Mumbai to visit his parents from London.
Protect your children
While he gives his children lot of freedom, there are times when Shahrukh decides for his kids, especially when its about their safety and what is good for them.
Shah Rukh Khan was widely criticised for misbehaving with the guards in Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium, but he still maintains that haw was trying to protect his kids and remains unapologetic about it.
“I took little children for the match and 40 grown-up people came charging aggressively at me. I think my behaviour is absolutely correct. I would still do the same thing if they misbehaved with my kids or kids that I am taking care of.”
SRK also made sure that Aryan stayed away the media glare by sending him abroad to study, so that he could be away from the limelight.
He even keeps AbRam away from the media glare as much as possible.
“He (AbRam) is not meant for flashbulbs. I don’t want him to be a participant in this circus of public life that I am a part of. That is what I do… Public life… The good, bad, ugly, goodness of media, the strangeness… I am part of it, not my children.”
