Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, known for his articulate speeches, became the first actor to speak at TED Talks in Canada.
With a fan base in the hundreds of millions (around the world), Shah Rukh Khan was the most famous speaker appearing at Vancouver TED Talks (Technology, Entertainment and Design talks) this year.

There was immense excitement amongst the audiences to hear SRK, one of the renowned names of Bollywood, and known for his witty responses and visionary ideas.

Shahrukh Khan, a big fan of TED Talks was happy that he was given an opportunity to present.
“I am not an innovator, technocrat or a scientist to ever imagine that I would make it to this platform. But I think the organisers were very kind and said that, ‘you please come and talk about India, what you have learnt from being an Indian and being a star in India’. It was a great opportunity. Also, it was a completely different platform than others that I have been to, and I am happy that I did a fairly well too (smiles).
We all know that Shahrukh Khan loves to talk, but does he like listening to speeches as well?
Shahrukh says he is impressed by Ellen DeGeneres, and thinks she speaks fantastically. He also admires Steve Jobs and thinks one of his speeches was brilliant. SRK also loved Maysoon Zayid’s (suffers from cerebral palsy and is a stand-up comedienne) recent talk at TED.
“I keep casually searching for such talks. I also love some of the actors, producers are writers from Hollywood but to be specific, I like the funny ones. I don’t appreciate the serious ones that much (smiles),” Shahrukh.
TED talks is a prestigious platform where remarkable people namely former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, astronaut Mae Jemison, Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to name a few, have presented before the audience.
Besides SRK, this edition of TED Talks (Canada) also featured Serena Williams and Elon Musk.
