
Indian TV and film actress Parul Yadav was viciously attacked by a pack of stray dogs, the footage caused shock in India. The actress required multiple surgeries and is still in shock, days after the attack.
The Kannada film actor had taken her pet dog Pluto (a Shih Tzu breed) for a walk, when the stray dogs attacked. She suffered serious injuries while trying to protect her pet from those stray dogs.
The actress suffered multiple dog bites on her face, hands and head. The force of the dog bites was so severe that she needed multiple surgeries, including one on her head.
Charu Dutta, Head of Of The Department, Plastic Surgery, Kokilaben Hospital, said that the actress was rushed to hospital in bad shape. She was shivering, blood vessels from right forearm were stripped bare, she had puncture marks on her calf muscles, a cut on the head and her eyebrow.

“She has over two dozens sutures on her arms and about six stitches on her head. The doctors at Kolilaben Hospital ensured her hair remained post surgery. She has been put on a high protein diet to repair the damaged tissues,” said Sheetal, Parul’s elder sister.

Parul Yadav started off as a model and has acted in Tamil, Kannada and Bollywood films.
The attack will surely start the debate about the dangers of stray dogs in India. Stray Dogs are a menace in most Indian cities; though the local authorities undertake sterilization of dogs, its not a fool-proof method of stopping dog-bites.
