Sunny Leone recently acquired a football team, and reveals why she’s a natural fit for the sports business.
It seems Sunny Leone has done all the hard work that she needed to do in India, and its now time to reap in the benefits. After making a name for herself in Bollywood, the ‘business woman’ in her is on the loose.
After launching her own line of perfumes and the production house, SunCity, Sunny has been announced as the co-owner and brand ambassador of Kochi-based football team, Kerala Cobras (Premier Futsal season 2 will be starting shortly).

Sunny Leone later justified her decision of investing in the football team.
“Having grown up in Canada and later in the US, football was our neighbourhood sport. It’s my first love. I was always an athletic kid and was naturally drawn to it. And being part of something bigger than yourself is always a great way to take [your own] brand ahead. After evaluating the league and the team, we felt it would be a great fit,” says Sunny.
Now that her latest acquisition is making headlines, she will need to get sponsors on board and rope in great players. I’m sure that won’t be difficult.
Popularity of sports in India is headed northwards.
