Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda in connection with the ongoing drug probe. Sources add that Showik and Miranda have been booked for possession, transportation and usage of cannabis.
As per reports, Showik confessed that he had allegedly procured drugs on the instructions of his sister – actor Rhea Chakraborty.
The Sushant Singh Rajput case has come a long way since the Mumbai police declared his death as a case of suicide.
The following agencies are now working on Sushant’s case.
CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation): The was handed over to CBI after the Supreme court’s verdict.
ED (enforcement directorate): They are investigating the money trail and money laundering angle.
NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau): The ED has asked the NCB to investigate if drugs were supplied to Rajput and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences): AIIMS forensic experts are assisting on the case.
So what is extremely surprising at this moment is that while the Mumbai police did not file even a single FIR in this matter, we now have three different FIRs filed each by the CBI, ED, and NCB in this matter.
Sequence of Events
CBI begins investigations. FIRs filed each by the CBI, ED, and NCB.
Matter goes to Supreme Court over jurisdiction. Supreme court says Bihar’s FIR is correct and so was its move to hand over the case to the CBI.
Bihar police comes to Mumbai to carry out the investigation, gets no assistance from Mumbai police. Bihar SP (central) Vinay Tiwari, who comes to Mumbai to join the probe is quarantined by BMC.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s father approaches Patna police, an FIR is filed. Mumbai Police call it “politically motivated”.
