In a span of just over a decade, Kareena Kapoor has manged to achieve super-stardom status and now gets almost equal footage, if not more, than the heroes. She took a break from films to enjoy mother hood, but now is back to doing what she does best.

Here’s how Bebo (Kareena) has managed to cope with the ups and downs of her professional life.

Kareena Kapoor loves to travel, and most of the time its with hubby Saif. However, this time Kareeena has shared holiday pictures from the scenic Prague (capital of the Czech Republic) and it’s with her girl gang (possibly for some shoot as she’s accompanied by her manager Poonam Damania and stylist Tanya Ghavri in the picture).

The most important tip that Kareena Kapoor (Raj Kapoor’s granddaughter) has to offer is not to chase money, if you want to do well in this industry. If that’s what you are after, its actually the wrong place to be in.

The younger daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Kareena made her debut with Abhishek Bachchan in JP Dutta’s Refugee a decade ago.

Bebo (as she is fondly called) is relieved that she does not have to support anyone and hence has the freedom to live her life, travel and indulge in the pleasures of life, and she considers herself lucky in this respect.

Bebo has always appeared confident, but now with maturity of age, professional success, and happiness in her personal life (marriage with Saif Ali Khan), there’s a sense of calmness on Bebo’s face.

Important to Be Part Of A Blockbuster

She also realizes how important it is to be part of a blockbuster, and the power associated with it.

Jab We Met (with Imtiaz Ali), 3 Idiots (with Raju Hirani) and GOLMAAL (with Rohit Shetty), have played an important role in pushing her to superstar status.

The best thing is that in 3 Idiots & Golmaal, she had significant roles to play inspite of being mult-starrer movies.

In the past, she did films for all the wrong reasons, sometimes because a friend asked, sometime because of the co-star, and so on. Almost all of those bad choices led to flops.

No wonder she has learnt the importance of script and story.

Before 3 Idiots and Golmaal 3, there were several ups and down in her life, and the only thing she constantly tried through this period was to ensure a balance of her performance-oriented films with her commercial ones.

Another thing she is proud of is the fact that she has worked with all the star actors and has managed be on a wonderful note with each one of them individually. Be it Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman, Ajay Dvgan, Saif or Imran.

Spontaneity Is Her Strength

She also plays to her strength, which is her spontaneity.

As per Karan Johar, who’s a childhood friend besides her K3G director says, “Bebo is a natural actor; she has no craft, grammar or process attached to her acting. She is gifted with a great sense of cinema that I have seen only in Kajol other than her. Move her from the sets of Golmaal to a Jab We Met to a Chameli on the same day, and Bebo will fit into them all.”

Kareena Kapoor knows that even though she is spontaneous and gifted, has the skills to salvage a situation with his/her performance and with some improvisation, and gets almost equal footage compared to the hero if not more, she feels it all lies in the director’s vision.

Raju Hirani also has lot of praise for his leading lady, as a real professional actor.

“The scene where she tells Boman (her father in the film, 3 Idiots) about her brother’s letter was a very tough one and Kareena insisted that I do not rehearse. She said she would lose her spontaneity. She had worked it all out in her head. I was a little apprehensive but trusted her. And it went off like a dream, in one shot!” recalls Hirani.

Popular Choice for Commercial Films

Kareena has always described herself as “the most commercial heroine” in Bollywood, and she even enjoys doing such films, more than doing parallel or off beat cinema.

However, this doesn’t mean she hasn’t done other kinds of roles; Bebo, in the past, has won accolades even for parallel films. She has done intense roles in Dev, Chameli, Omkara and few more. Kareena is also not very comfortable with nudity in films and says that she doesn’t have the courage to do a bold film like ‘The Dirty Picture’. But she is very clear that unless a great script comes her way, she’s going to focus more on commercial films.

Kareena Kapoor Khan has done some amazing work in her career, which have been appreciated critically and have been successful commercially as well. However, with marriage and the fact that she’s past her prime age, Kareena’s popularity seems to be waning. It looks like she has lost her “reigning queen of B-Town” title to younger stars faces…like Deepika Padukone & Kangana Ranaut.
