“Whether azaan or bhajan, the use of loudspeakers should be restricted and legal time-limits followed. Faith must not be imposed aggressively. Appeasement politics must end,” says singer-actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi who was trolled savagely for her comments against early-morning prayers on loudspeakers.
Her comments evoked several angry comments, with most attacking her sexually – calling her prostitute and some even threatening rape. Suchitra shared some of those comments and said “with this kind of attitude towards women its no wonder that India has become rape capital of the world”.

Azaan or Bhajan, use of loudspeakers should be as per the law
“The police have registered a case under IPC sections 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 67 (a) (punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act), against four persons,” a senior police official at Oshiwara.
Few people who criticised Suchitra’s comments.
1) “Those who sing and dance till early hours, drink at 2 a.m. in parties in hotels, and sit with their arms on shoulders of strange men and talk, who have spoilt Indian culture have suddenly started criticising.” Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi.

2) “My dear, I normally wuld not comment but yr description of d Azaan that annoys u speaks lowly of u. U culd hav had more dignity in yr comment,” wrote jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali (to which Suchitra replied that she did get carried away).
3) Pakstani journalist Mehar Tarar said she found some words in the actor’s tweet ‘vulgar and insensitive’ (to which Suchitra replied with a riposte on Sunanda Pushkar).
Trolling arguments is acceptable. But if @Twitter want to survive in India they have to stop such rampant disgusting sexual abuse @suchitrak https://t.co/pNEA0zq5SK

About the aggressive remarks, Suchitra says “I have faced worse when I wrote a blog saying I refuse to accept Ram as my bhagwan because of the way he treated Sita. That time they called me Dawood’s concubine and asked me to go to Pakistan. This time I am being called a dhandhe waali for coming home late at night and a bhakt and a sanghi.”
Nobody from the Bollywood fraternity has condemned these shameful abusive tweets yet (being a sensitive topic). A few months back Sonu Nigam had expressed his displeasure against the use of loudspeakers for azaan, sparking a controversy.
Plz dont blame Islam for this, a lot of hindus also use such language but i dont blame hinduism for this. These morons have not been taught ethics by their parents, i m also a muslim from pakistan but i can never even imagine of using such harsh words against anyone.
This is just unbelievable. These people don’t have friends and families who could potentially read their livid & abusive statements? What kind of people write/say such statements?
