World’s Longest Flight is much longer than Chandni Chowk to China

Qatar Airways now holds the world record for the longest commercial flight in the world.

Qatar Airways has launched the world’s longest commercial flight- from Doha, Qatar to Auckland, New Zealand. Flight QR920 covered a distance of 9,032 miles to reach Auckland, reports the AP.

The outbound journey took 16 hours and 20 minutes on the Boeing 777-200LR, however the return trip was 17 hours and 30 minutes (because of headwinds).

This is the farthest distance, between two cities in the world, that is linked by a direct flight. Qatar Airways’ rival Emirates previously held the record for the longest route between Dubai and Auckland. That route was over 185 miles shorter.
