Aamir Khan finally speaks on Dangal co-star Zaira Wasim controversy

Aamir Khan (despite getting an unfair treatment for his comments on intolerance) has finally spoken up for his Dangal co-star Zaira Wasim, who was trolled. The child artist recently met with J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti and shared the picture on social media.


Zaira deleted the posts after facing severe backlash from trolls, and even offered an apology – “I know that many people have been offended and displeased by my recent actions or by the people I have recently met. I want to apologise to all those people who I’ve unintentionally hurt and want them to know that I understand their sentiments, especially considering what has happened (in Kashmir) over the past six months.”

Several Bollywood celebrities and the Phogat sisters (wrestlers) also came out in support of Zaira.

Kashmiri girl is Aamir Khan’s daughter in upoming movie “Dangal”

Bollywood is a very competitive industry, but it can throw up pleasant surprises too. That’s what Zaira Wasim, a Kashmiri, who’s playing Aamir Khan’s daughter realized.

Zaira never thought she would ever get an opportunity to do a film so soon, especially when she was competing against at least a thousand women.

However, with a little bit of luck on her side, she bagged the role of wrestler Geeta Phogat and got the opportunity to work with Aamir Khan. Zaira is back in Srinagar after finishing the shooting of the movie.

Zaira is now a household name in Kashmir; we just hope she inspires more Kashmiri youngsters to follow their dreams.
