In the movie Endhiran (Robot) featuring Rajnikanth, we got a glimse of “Mount Picchu” which is located in Peru, in South America. Now it seems, even Bollywood movies are to be shown in several countries in South America and many more countries where they have not ventured in the past. One of the reasons for this development is that Indian diaspora / businesses / tourists are reaching to many more countries across the world, which indirectly also helps Bollywood movies.
South America, Middle East, South East Asia are some of the regions where Bollywood intends to wow the audiences, and in some countries the movies are going to be released on the same day, when it would be released in India.
Chennai Express was the first hindi movie to be shown in Peru on the same day it releases in India (Aug 9). Earlier, SRK’s ‘My Name Is Khan’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Guzaarish’ were shown in Peru, but as delayed releases. Chennai Express changed that.
Isn’t that amazing?
And part of the success does go to the phenomenal popularity of King Khan in the overseas market.
This Rohit Shetty directed movies is also going to be shown in several non-traditional markets including Morocco, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Israel.
We wish them all the best and only hope that the Bollywood fever spreads in many more countries.
