If you’re in Canada and want to enjoy European kind of culture and architecture? You should explore the Quebec region, where Montreal and Quebec City are located (Canada’s most important French-speaking cities). Montreal is a modern multicultural city, while Quebec City remains the heart and soul of French-speaking Canada. Both these cities offer a touch of the ‘Old World’ in North America.

So if you want to savor french food, culture and architecture, head straight to Montreal!
And for the same reasons, in the past, several Hollywood films have been filmed in and Montreal, with Montreal acting as a double for Paris and other European cities. This way, budget-conscious American based productions manage to save on travel to Europe.
In recent times, Indian films have been capturing scenic locations from around the world, however, very few Indian films haven actually been shot in Montreal. On the contrary, several films have been shot in Toronto & Vancouver, and that is probably because most of the Indian diaspora is located in these two cities, as opposed to Montreal.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bewafa’ (also had Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Sushmita Sen) had a few scenes that were shot in Montreal (Montreal City Hall and Montreal Clock Tower, Old Port).
Barring that, hardly any Bollywood film has been shot in Montreal. Perhaps, its time for the local authorities to pitch Quebec to Bollywood filmmakers!
American television thriller series featuring Priyanka chopra has been shot in Montreal. Priyanka shot at the l’Universite de Sherbrooke, and even mentioned on Instagram that she loved to film in schools. Priyanka chopra posted on Instagram, “Beautiful Montreal peeking through the clouds.. Aaah Ganudagi me hone se sab Zyada khoobsoorat Lagta hai.” (Source: Instagram)
