The growing stature of Bollywood can be gauged by the fact that its shooting at places where not even many Hollywood movies have done before.
Firoz A Nadiadwala’s ‘Welcome Back’ (sequel to the hugely successful ‘Welcome’) was recently shot at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. And guess what, its only the second movie in the world to have done that. The first one was the Hollywood flick ‘Fast and Furious 7’.

The Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is among the most expensive hotels in the world, and is owned by the royal family of Abu Dhabi. The location of the hotel and its surroundings is simply superb, nothing else comes close. The building itself is opulent. But then isn’t the middle east all about Opulence?
Even producer Firoz A Nadiadwala confirmed this news, “After ‘Fast and Furious 7’, ‘Welcome Back’ is the first film to have been shot at the splendid Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.”
A source from the production team revealed that the dome area of the palace will be shown as Naseeruddin Shah’s living room in the film.
Here’s another video posted by a user who had stayed at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi for a few days.
Producer Firoz A Nadiadwala seems to have some good working relationships with the several the Royal families in the Middle-East as he ends up shooting a lot of Bollywood movies in that region, and that too at prominent places. Good for the audience, as they get to see some awesome locations, which they probably may not be able to see otherwise.
‘Welcome Back’ is directed by Anees Bazmee and is scheduled to release in January 2015. So, is Naseeruddin Shah playing the part of RDX in the sequel, which was played by Feroz Khan earlier? Lets watch and watch!
