Rajinikanth likely to replace Shah Rukh Khan as Malacca’s brand ambassador for tourism.
I guess it took some time for the Malaysian government to realize that Rajinikanth is a much bigger star than Shahrukh Khan, at least in regions with a significant South-Indian population, and Malaysia happens to be one such region.
Although Shahrukh Khan is the tourism brand ambassador of Malaysia, Superstar Rajinikanth’s massive fan following became apparent in Malaysia after his movie Kabali was released. Rajinikanth’s film Kabali was extensively filmed in Malaysia.
No wonder, the Malaysian government has been wondering why SRK has not been able to attract hordes of tourists from India.
And now the Malaysian government is seriously considering replacing ‘ineffective’ Shah Rukh Khan with Rajinikanth as the tourism ambassador, at least in the state of Malacca.
“He (Rajinikanth) is very famous and Shah Rukh Khan is not very effective,” Tourism and Culture Minister.
