Deepika and Ranveer, who got married on Nov 14, 2008 decided to postpone their honeymoon so that Ranveer could focus on the promotions and post-production work of Simmba, which released on December 28.
Post the release of Simmba, the couple take off to an undisclosed location for their honeymoon, combined with New Years’ eve. They will also celebrate Deepika’s first birthday after marriage (falls on 5th January).
“It’s going to be extra special this time. It’s going to be a much-needed break, combined with the honeymoon and my first birthday (as a wife). It’s all of these things combined and hopefully, also the celebration of the success of Simmba,” says Deepika.
The two were spotted at Mumbai airport in the wee hours. While Deepika was clicked wearing an all-black outfit which she teamed with boots, Ranveer complemented his lady in black leather jacket and colour-coordinated pants.
Deepika and Ranveer like to keep things under wraps as they value their privacy a lot. Even when they got married, guests were asked not to get their smartphones at the venue, and the pictures of the celebrations were shared by the couple few days later.
However, it seems, this time their efforts to keep their honeymoon destination a secret has been undone.
Thanks to Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya who bumped into Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone at Colombo airport and posted pictures of the couple on social media.
The couple had kept their destination a secret, but it seems Jayasuriya just let the cat out of the bag?
