Tennis Legend Steffi Graf (married to another tennis great Andre Agassi) is Kerala’s Ayurveda Brand Ambassador, and will soon be promoting Ayurveda around the world. Steffi Graf’s appointment as the Ayurveda brand ambassador will be part of Kerala Tourism’s ‘Visit Kerala Scheme’.

Kerala, also known as Gods Own Country, is already a popular tourist destination for foreigners. For a long time the government has also been on the lookout for a popular celebrity to promote Ayurveda (ancient medical science developed in India thousands of years ago).
In that regard, they were in talks with superstars ‘Jackie Chan’ and Amitabh Bachchan but could not get them on board. Finally, the government decided to go ahead with Ms. Graf, after having several rounds of discussions with her.
Kerala’s Ayurveda, an ancient system of health care is popular for its holistic effect on body and mind, attracts large number of people from the country and abroad every year.
As Kerala Tourism’s brand ambassador for Ayurveda, Ms. Graf will shoot few promotional videos which will be filmed across Kerala. She may also have to travel to European countries to promote Kerala Ayurveda in those countries during her contract period. The tennis star had already made few visits to the state and had shown keen interest in the new role.
Steffi Graf retired from Tennis in 1999, is married to former World No. 1 men’s tennis player Andre Agassi. The German former World number one tennis player, who had bagged 22 Grand slam single titles.
So it’s Kerala calling for tennis legend, Steffi Graf, who will promote Ayurveda for the state, as its brand ambassador. The Kerala Tourism Department will soon be signing the agreement in this regard with the tennis star.
