At the Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF), India is the star attraction, thanks to the increasing popularity of Bollywood music and yoga among Uzbeks of all ages.
Uzbeks are fond of watching Indian movies, and Bollywood music — be it Raj Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan or Shahrukh — is a craze among Uzbeks.
To cash in on this popularity, Indian tourism ministry is running an Incredible India campaign at the TITF, where its showcasing Indian culture through dance and yoga.
India is now a favoured destination for medical tourism from Uzbekistan,” a senior Indian official said.
TITF is Uzbekistan’s main tourism event, and also features a festival of the national delicacies of the participating countries.
