5 Ways to Travel the World for Free

Fond of traveling? Here are five different ways that will let you travel the world, even if you don’t have the money. You may not get to choose the destination, but in some cases you could get lucky.

These cashless travel ideas will let you go places on a shoestring budget, where almost everything is paid for. However, it won’t be a 100 percent leisure trip, there will be some element of work involved; you check it out for yourself if it suits you.

Become a Mystery Traveler

Here you get hired by a travel business to travel to a certain location as a normal visitor, and come back with your findings. You get to stay in a hotel, or some other type of accommodation, and will be expected to furnish your observations.

So for example, you could be asked to travel to a country in Europe and asked to report if there’s any discrimination against Asians, or go to some country in Asia and report if there’s any discrimination against women travelers.

Teach English Abroad

Lot of people are already traveling abroad to teach English. This can be a rewarding experience where you get to know a lo about the other culture and also get to meet English teachers from other countries. Travel, accommodation and living expenses are usually taken care of. In some cases, you could even be paid a stipend.

Remember, Aamir Khan in the movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’? He was an art teacher in a boarding school, located in some far off place.

Give Guided Mystery Tours

Now this requires you to have some knowledge about a particular place, including its history. But if you loved a town that you visited on your last trip, you can learn more about the city and actually become a tour guide. Yes, that’s correct! Most specialist tour companies located in non-english speaking countries actually hire English-speaking people, with good local knowledge, as tour guides. you just have to appear charming and confident.

Aamir Khan was a tour guide in the movie Fanaa.

Exchange Homes

Many may feel that this is a risky option, but house swapping is fast becoming popular among travelers who love to live in a homely environment. several house-swapping websites have online classifieds where you may express your interest. There’s a small registration fee to make sure only genuine travelers register on those sites.

Work on an Organic Farm

This eco-friendly idea can be a great opportunity to see some beautiful locations, and also to do your bit for the environment. In this case, sustainable organisations connect people who’re willing to work as volunteers on organic farms with farmers who’re willing to have them as guests for a few days or weeks. You get to stay with the farmers and in turn would be expected to put in a few hours picking fruits or doing some chores in a coffee plantation or vineyard.
