Bollywood movies are popular with Ethiopian youth, many of whom sit through a three-hour-long movie, making guestimates based on the expressive faces of the actors. Ethiopian long distance runner Almaz Ayana also loves watching Bollywood movies with her friends in Ethiopia (she watches subtitled Bollywood movies in Addis Ababa).

Like Indians, Ethiopians are also conservative and traditional which they admire about Indians. Also, a lot of them have been taught by Indian teachers. Ethiopian food is also very similar to that in India – hot and spicy, and they all love watching Hindi films.
