
Jokulsarlon (Iceland), the location for a thrilling James Bond car chase across a frozen lake, flanked by spectacular blue icebergs, now attract about half a million visitors each year, and is Iceland’s top tourist spots.
Jokulsarlon is a spectacular glacier lagoon located on Iceland’s southeastern coast (stems down from Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull), where you can sail amongst icebergs of all shapes and sizes, and walk the black sand shores.

Currently, a legal battle is ensuing over the ownership of Jokulsarlon; an investment company is claiming ownership on Jokulsarlon, while Icelanders’ don’t wish to give up the ownership.
“There aren’t a lot of places where you have a glacier crawling into the sea. This is a ‘natural gem’ that still requires extensive research, so it is only natural that it should be owned by all Icelanders,” Gudmundur Ingi Gudbrandsson, managing director of the Icelandic Environment Association.
Tourists in Iceland are eager to catch a glimpse of the northern lights, to detox, or explore the locations of Game of Thrones.

The thrilling environment in Jokulsarlon constantly keeps on changing as Icebergs (in many hues of blue, turquoise and white), break off from the glacier and float in the lagoon.
