NZ Tourism Ambassador Sidharth Malhotra Impressed by Kiwi PM’s Knowledge of Bollywood

Sidharth Malhotra has been appointed the new Tourism Ambassador to encourage more Indian visitors to New Zealand.

Bollywood stars not only play important roles in movies, but off screen too, they juggle a lot of hats. Endorsements, sports, NGO affiliations, our stars are more than just an actor and an entertainer today. So, it came as no surprise to us when the young sensation, Sidharth Malhotra was named as the tourism ambassador for New Zealand.

Yes, that’s true!

Sidharth Malhotra (who made his debut with Student of the Year) visited New Zealand to get a first-hand experience of the country’s beautiful landscapes and culture, as a part of his role as the tourism ambassador.

During his recent visit to the foreign country, the young actor also had the opportunity to meet NZ Prime Minister ‘John Key’. And guess what? The PM floored Sidharth with his knowledge about the Hindi film industry.

“Sidharth and the PM had an interesting and fruitful conversation while the actor was in New Zealand. Sidharth has assured Key that he will go out of his way to encourage Bollywood producers to shoot their films there,” revealed an insider.

New Zealand has seen a surge of Indian tourists, thanks to the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015.

Taking advantage of the growing trend, New Zealand has enrolled Sidhath to promote the country amongst fellow Indians. He will be a part of the video that highlights New Zealand’s spectacular scenery, adventure activities and cultural experiences. There will also be messages on safe driving in the country delivered by the actor.

Sidharth Malhotra is himself a keen nature lover, traveler and an explorer, so seems like New Zealand picked the right actor to promote their country.

Apart from being a tourism ambassador, Sidharth Malhotra is a very busy and popular actor. With approximately 4.3 million followers on his social media site, he is busy shooting for a couple of films.
