The Dead sea, bordering Israel, the West Bank and Jordan, is the lowest surface on earth (around 400 metres below sea-level). And floating is so easy in its hypersaline water; you just cannot sink in the Dead Sea no matter how hard you try.
Another attraction of the Dead sea is its mineral-rich black mud that is used for therapeutic and cosmetic treatments, and is considered to be one of the best spa treatments available.
The Romans named it the Dead Sea; the water is so salty that no fish or plants live in this mineral rich water, and hence the name ‘Dead Sea’. But the same salt provides tremendous relief to several ailing visitors who come here to benefit from its healing properties. In the Bible, the Dead Sea is considered to be a place of refuge for King David.

For thousands of years, the Dead Sea has attracted visitors from all around. However, in recent years, the water levels in the Dead sea has been going down at an alarming level.
