French Riviera is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, the fact that Cannes is located there does help in its promotions, as every year celebrities from Hollywood, Bollywood and other film industries around the world attend its prestigious film festival. Of late several Bollywood celebrities have been making a presence at Cannes to promote their films. But there are many Bollywood actors who’re also choosing to holiday in the French Riviera.
Akshay Kumar in the French Riviera
Its a known fact that Akshay Kumar loves to spend time with family, and the Khiladi takes several vacations a year. Akshay was recently found holidaying in the French Riviera, along with his wife Twinkle Khanna. Akshay and Twinkle were on an extended holiday in Europe (the Khiladi Kumar will return and start promoting his upcoming film “Brothers”).
While tourists love to soak in the sun in its beautiful beaches, Akshay, who’s a fitness freak, posted a picture of himself climbing ropes on the sea in “Khatron Ke Khiladi” style. “My idea of fun…climbing some ropes at the French Riviera 🙂 It’s a top of the world feeling indeed! #sportsjunkie,” he posted.

The couple went on long drives and extensively explored the Riviera. “And the holiday begins…loving driving around the picturesque Antibes in Nice, great view and even better company :)” posted Akshay, with a picture of him and Twinkle few days back.

Popular Places in the French Riviera
The French Riviera is located towards the east of the point where the Alps meet the Mediterranean, and has a wonderfully mild to warm climate all year round.
‘Nice’ (with over 25 centuries history, a rich and varied civil and religious architecture) is the capital city of the French Riviera.
Other popular places nearby include Monaco…the Principality, and in particular Monte-Carlo (means the Grand Casino) popular for its luxurious surroundings, exclusive shops, 4 star deluxe hotels, renowned restaurants and splendid gardens.
The best way to reach the Riviera is by flights to Nice airport (lies between Nice and Cagnes sur Mer), one of the busiest in France. The airport is also well linked to several Riviera resorts by bus and coach services. It’s also linked to Monaco by helicopter services.
