Shahrukh is already a Baadshah of the Indian entertainment industry, and it seems, now he wants to be the Baadshah of Cricket too.
Shah Rukh Khan is known to have a sharp business mind. After tasting success in IPL, Shah Rukh Khan is now investing in cricket teams around the world.
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), was named as one of the owners in the new eight-team South African Global League. Shahrukh bought the Cape Town franchise and has named it the Cape Town Knight Riders (in line with the established Knight Riders Brand).
“We are proud of the powerful KKR brand we have built in India as part of the IPL as well as the ever-growing fan base. We now look forward to expand our brand in other cricket playing nations as well,” said Shahrukh.
SRK also owns another Twenty20 franchise – Trinidad and Tobago (known as Trinbago Knight Riders) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The acquisition of the other cricket teams seems to be consistent with SRK’s vision to expand the “Knight Riders” brand globally.
