
While there are several movies in which dogs have featured, these are some of the films where the dog had a prominent role.
Entertainment (2014): Akshay Kumar film where the dog is actually the real star. Akshay’s late billionaire father will his entire estate to a dog (named Entertainment). He tries to kill the dog but ends up developing a deep bonding with the dog due to his loyalty.
Dil Dhadakne Do (2015): Aamir Khan lent his voice to a dog (a pugg) named Pluto in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. Pluto narrates the story of the family through his observations.
Chillar Party (2011): Film is about a group of kids, and a dog called Bhidu, a stray.

Aankhen (1993):
The movie has Govinda, Chunky Pandey, Kader Khan, and of-course the monkey in a comic role. The movie was a smash hit in the 90s.
Hum Apke Hain Kaun – HAHK (1994):
The film stars Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. A sweet Pomeranian dog, Tuffy plays a key role in bringing the lovers together.

Mard (1985): Featuring Amitabh Bachchan, the lead hero has a loyal horse and a black dog forcompany (the later even urinates on the face of British oppressors).
Hathi Mere Sathi (1971):
This movie features Rajesh Khanna and several elephants. The hero, an orphan, grows along with four elephants and perform on the streets to make a living. However, after marriage and his new born child, he has to choose between the animals and his own family.

Imtiaz Ali presents a short film on dogs
Imtiaz Ali, known for his unconventional love stories, is now making a short film on dogs, and of-course its a love story (that’s what he’s good at).
The short film titled “Bruno and Juliet” narrates the love story of two dogs. The movie is presented by Ali, but its written and directed by Khawar Jamsheed.
“‘Bruno and Juliet’ is a conventional love story of characters that are unconventional lovers for cinema- Dogs. The film explores the basic need of two lovers to unite, only in this film the lovers are dogs,” said Ali.

“I used to observe dogs in my neighbourhood closely and found their friendship very fascinating. So, I picked up my camera and started following the dogs filming them for 22 days,” said Jamsheed.
