Bollywood Films Shot at Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara
Bollywood movie ‘Rang Rasiya’ (starring Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen) extensively features Vadodara’s Laxmi Vilas, and it really blends well with the theme of the movie that is based on famous Indian Painter Raja Ravi Verma. The palace also houses several paintings of the famous painter so that’s another reason why that place was chosen for the film.
The palace was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad more than a century ago; its believed to have been the largest private dwelling built till date, and is almost four times the size of the Buckingham Palace. The Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara still remains the residence of the royal family, which is held in high esteem by the residents of Vadodara.
Some time back an entirely different genre of film was shot here.
Can you guess which one?
