One of the best things in Jordan, from a filmmakers perspective, is its terrain, which fits the canvas, scale and story of big budget films that needs exotic locations.
For most Indians, Jordan is an undiscovered country (despite being spectacular) and for filmmakers its an absolutely fresh location. Surprisingly, not many Bollywood movies have been shot here (probably because of its proximity to Israel/Palestine which is seen as a volatile region), but it will surely change in the future.
But then it happens to be the safest & the most stable country in the region.
Petra is one of the seven wonders of the modern world and other highlights of Jordan includes the Wadi Rum, which has a topography similar to that of Mars, and Jerrash, the largest Roman ruins outside of Rome.
Movies Shot in Jordan
The most recent bollywood movie to be shot in Jordan is ‘Krrish 3’ (Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra). The Song ‘Dil Tu Hi Bataa’ is shot in Petra.
Earlier, the film ‘Kajraare’ (starring Himesh Reshammiya & Mona Laizza, directed by Pooja Bhatt) was shot here.
One of the popular landmarks seen in bollywood films is the ‘Al Khazneh’ in Petra.
