Dressed in blue kurta and jeans, Ed Sheeran rocked the Mumbai concert during his much-awaited India Tour. Ed Sheeran performed for one-and-a-half-hours (many fans felt that was too short).
The day before, Sheeran was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan at her home, where several Bollywood stars (Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor) turned up to meet the star.
Now that he has friends in Bollywood, any plans for Bollywood?
“I have seen few Bollywood films, heard some songs and seen some actors. I would love to do something in Bollywood… Maybe with Shah Rukh Khan. It will be something in their (Bollywood) style,” said Sheeran.
As Bollywood celebs continued posting pictures of the party (some with their attention seeking drama and terrible fashion sense), many on social media felt that Sheeran’s face was actually a cry for help. Here are some comments on Twitter.

Even Ed Sheeran is tired of hearing ‘Shape Of You’
Talk about Ed Sheeran and the song ‘Shape Of You’ instantly comes to the mind. In fact, most people in India know only of that song.
With a hit as big as Shape Of You, it’s inevitable that you’ll get a little sick of hearing it everywhere you go, and almost all the time. Even if you’re Ed Sheeran himself.
“First time you hear it on the radio, it’s wonderful. But, Shape Of You…I have to turn it down, because I’ve heard it so many times now,” said the British musician during a group interview.
Sheeran says he embraces all versions of “Shape of You”
Fans in India went overboard when his mega-hit “Shape of You” and came up with different covers of the song.
“Yes, I was aware of it and I loved it. Another culture, where I saw this happening was the Caribbean. They had a lot of versions. I embrace it all.”

IIT-Roorkee students viral music video on ‘Shape of You’
IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) are among the top engineering colleges, not just in India but in the world. But it seems their students are not just good in Maths and science, they can be very creative as well.
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, students of IIT-Roorkee released a music video of their dance performance to Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You – and it’s going viral.
Created by members of the Dance and Choreography Section of IIT-Roorkee in association with Cinesec, the video shows four students showing off their dance moves in romantic pursuit of the women of their dreams.
The dance moves are great (good choreography), although the dancers could have perfected the moves better. Its a clever video overall, with crisp editing and clever use of effects.
Hats off to the IITians. Check out IIT-Roorkee’s cool video.
Ed Sheeran on Indian Music
Ed Sheeran is a bit surprised that people in India are interested in his music, especially whrn they have “great Hindi music” here.
I wonder why people in India are interested in my music when there is so much good music here as well. In England, there is so much great English music so why would they like to hear anything else? Similarly, there is so much great Hindi music here, so I wonder why would they like to hear anything else,” said the Grammy-winning artiste.
How much does Ed Sheeran earn per gig?
Ed Sheeran is a much bigger star today after the smash hit ‘Shape Of You’. While his current earnings are unavailable, here’s a post on the theguardian (couple of years old) that suggest that he used to earn around £63,000 per show.
However, things have changed since then. With his 2017 album Divide storming the charts and even a surprise cameo appearance in Game Of Thrones, the Brit artist has built up a huge fortune for himself. Ed Sheeran is worth an estimated £50million.
